General information

There is no registration fee and lunches are provided. Unfortunately we are unable to offer reimbursement for accommodation. However, limited funds are available for partial reimbursement of UK travel expenses. Please email sgstad@surrey.ac.uk in advance if you would like to apply for funding.

Travel information

If you are travelling by plane, we recommend flying to Gatwick Airport. There is a direct train from Gatwick to Guildford station departing once an hour, which takes approximately 40 minutes. A single ticket costs £11.90 (off-peak).

Walking from Guildford train station to the university, following the route in this map, takes about 20 minutes. From the town centre and from the train station (university exit) buses 27 and 37 go to the university, with buses 26 and 36 following the reverse route (map of bus route).

Limited parking, which must be booked in advance, is available in the main campus car park, shown in this University of Surrey campus map.

Conference dinner

There will be a conference tapas dinner on the evening of Monday 3 July at the Spanish tapas restaurant De Nada in Guildford town centre. For participants who wish to attend the dinner, we will reserve a place only after the payment is made.

This will be a three-course tapas dinner with wine and cava, which costs £38.50 per person. Here is the menu.

Accommodation

We can reserve limited B&B accommodation on campus at a rate of £48 per night. Once the application is accepted, reservations will be made when the payment has been completed.

Otherwise accommodation can be booked at local Guildford B&Bs (such as the Asperion Hotel and Mandolay Hotel) or at the YMCA or Travelodge.

Venue

The conference talks will take place in room 72 MS 03 of the Management School (Rik Medlik) building. Please see the campus map above.
